Greetings people of the blog!

I hope everyone has received nice gifts from the "reyes magos!" I also hope everyone is doing well in school this year, and having fun too.

I am posting a few photos so you can see what I did for work from September through December: I worked on a lobster boat! It was very different than teaching, but I enjoyed it very much. It was cold on the ocean in December, when I took these photos. That is why I am so bundled up!

We have had a lot of snow in Massachusetts this winter, about 60 centimeters total! There is only a little bit left now, but we will be getting more this week. I plan to go skiing a few times this month to enjoy the snow.

The Imperial eagle is an animal in extinction danger. In Spain there are 240 pairs.
It is 80 cm tall and from 1.9 to 2.2 meters of wingspan.
The plumage is brown dark and one part of his wings are white the plumage in the chicks are white.
It is from 2.8 to 3.5 kilograms heavy.
He live in cork oak and in Holm-oak. His aliment are rabbits, pigeons, ravens and littels fox.

My Easter Holidays

I enjoyed a lot in the easter holidays!

I went to my village that is near Guadalajara. My village is very far away. One evidence proving its distance from the “civilization” is that at the end of it, the road finishes.

I spent most of my time with two ponies. They were in a way that is very near of my village. One of the horses is black and another is brown. One time, when I was leaving the way where they were, one of the horses was following me, running. I was so scared because I thought he wouldn’t stop. Fortunately, he stopped before he arrived at me. I would like to see them again.

On my holidays I went to the Alberca in Salamanca with my parents and my sister.We were there for 3 days and there was bad weather. The main activity that we did was hiking and visit the villages of this place.We arrived on tuesday and on wednesday I went to shopping with my friends(it was a very funn activity).On Thursday I went to Gandía with my friend Olga.We had a very great time and the weather was really good.We shopped ,we visited Gandía ,we went to the beach(we didn't swim),we played tennis etc.It was a great holidays but there were somethings that I didn't like ...

1)The traffic coming back to Gandía .

2)The book of 170 pages that Marcia gave me

3)The few days of holidays.

In this holidays I went to Cantabria. I go to Cantabria every years but the last was spetial because my cousins Pablo and Jorge went with my family and was fun because we did an very big hole alsways in the beach.
We walk in the mountain and play in the beach.
In the dinner them went to my "house" and we ate cheese, sandwiches, bacon... After the dinner we went to play with we new friends.

In holidays I went to Los Alcazares in Murcia. I swam althoug it was a rainy and windy week. I go to Cartagena and I bougth musics disc and comics. I were with my cousin and with my brothers. The travel from Madrid to Murcia had take 5 hours but it's nice.

In my Summer's holydays my main activity was go to my cousins' swimming pool. I usually go to a Summer Camp with my friends. But what I always do is go to Gandia (in Valencia) and Los Alcazares (in Murcia). But my favourite activity is go shopping with my aunt or my friends. When I go to Gandia I also go with my friends. The last year all my friends went there to be one or two weeks with their parents and us. It is so funny because we can do everything what we want, go shopping, go to the cinema, go for a walk... And then we return to Getafe and I go to my cousins' swimming pool again.

My summer holidays

Over the summer, I went to Salou. I went with my parents an my brother. We went there because Port Aventura is in Salou. We stayed in Salou for a week in an apartament. In Salou, there were many english people, and the beach was full of people. Salou is not beautiful, but there was a lot of partying. I remembered that the first night, my parents couldn't sleep bacause of the sound. We were in Port Aventura for two days. I entered in all the atractions, but the best ones were, the Dragon Kan and Fourious Baco, that was a new atraction that can pass from o km/h to 100 km/h in 3 seconds. Then, it took us 5 hours to return to Getafe.

On holiday I stayed in Getafe and in the afternoons I went to the park with some friends and we played basketball. Also we met two guys who we called "giraffes" because they are very tall. It was very enjoyable. but the last day something very strabge happened. We were playing basketball until I heard a very strange sound behind a tree, and we decided to go near there, and when a girl touched the tree, we saw a light and now we can't remember anything else.

during holy-week I was in my house the first days and after I went to pedreguer (valencia), see with other family (friend of my father and my mather), the fallas and the mazcletada.
the mazcletada is when the firecracker explote and ther maade a lot of noise and I saw the fallas after.One of this fallas was very beatiful and when the clock strack twele of clock(24:00) the most inportanat fallas were burned and if you saw it was very beautiful.
And listen for the people that are next to my that the first falla is worth more or less 1.000.000 of euros.
And I saw the second falla but is very beautiful and I imagine that the fisrt was... more beautiful that all fallas. for this reason take the first price.

My Easter Week

Hello I'm going to tell you my vacation. First 1 hour and a half of travel to the mountains of Madrid. When we arrived, there was no snow, nothing. The house was very big but was in construcction still. The family of my mother had 2 big dogs (Golden Retrievers) with short air. My mon hate all the dogs and all animals in general. I stay in this house 3 days (a week-end). All day play with my cousin, and with his toys.

Then I come to Getafe. I was bored and I decided to call me friend David Guerrero. He comes to my house. The first day we was playing with the playstation 2 all the long afternoon. The game was GTA: San Andreas. In night he stay overnight with me. The next day we continue play this game. We only stop to eat. And the same 1 day more.

And this is my fun holy week. But now....... we're going to continue playing. And then the greats!!!!!

In my holy-week i¡m was in the beach, exactly in Peñiscola (in Valencia), without my compurter that was broken. My holy-week was tooo... boring because i'm only in the beach, i went all the day in the beach, my plan was that: after breakfast i was running in the beach (only 1 hour), before lunch, i'm was on the beach, doing nothing and after dinner i saw the sea at night. Days later, i¡m went to Benicarló, at the fallas, that's my holy-week.

Las August my family and I went to Ribadeo (Galicia) on holidays.MY family packed the suitcase,my brother and I were excited.We started the tirp in the morning.We spent 7 hours in the car.The trip was a bit boring.

In Galicia we went to a rural house.My brother and I went to the besch.The water was VERY VERY COLD.We saw many musels and crabs.We ent in Ribadeo 7 days.

We went to many exursions in Galicia. After the 7 days we went to Getafe.The trip to Getafe was sad,because my brother and I like Rbadeo;I feel that Ribadeo is a fantastic town.Last summer was very NICE.In the imagen you saw the beach of catedrales a very nice beach.

This is my first blog entry! I should have written much earlier, but I am here now. I hope to make many more entries.

Well, I'm afraid my vacation wasn't as exciting as Pablo and Yolanda's, but it was still fun. As many of you know, I went to visit my brother and his family in Burkina Faso. We had a great time visiting and seeing the country. We saw lots of wildlife at the Nazinga wildlife reserve, including the elephants you see in the photo. Below, I have posted the website for this national park, maintained by the Ministry of the Environment of Burkina Faso.

I have also posted some other websites for people to find out more about this fascinating West African country. The second link is Unicef's Burkina page. My trip to the Mars

Over the holidays I went to Mars. My family went to the Moon but they lost me in the spaceport and I went to Mars. Mars is a very could planet sometimes it was -140.15.

Thre aremany martians and one is my friend. The surface is very rocky and red.

The martians are green and much tallers to my. The cities of Mars are undergraund, the buldings are very strange.

In Mars There is a very big seabut the colour is red like the sand.

I played with my martians friend at volleyball, soccer, swimming ...

I take it but I got dizzy.

My Trip to The Moon

This Holy Week I wet to THE MOON! We’ve spent all the money for Pablo’s and my University, but it’s OK.
The Moon is precious; it hasn’t got much buildings, just some hotels, restaurants, museums and zoos.
The hotel was very comfortable but posh. There they gave us some spacesuits in order for us to wear them, since on the Moon sometimes it is 105ºC and other times -150ºC.
We had dinner at some restaurants; the food was very similar to Earth’s but there was a special dish: Lunar Rock. So I can answer the famous question: “What does the Moon taste like?” People were right, it tastes like cheese.
We went to some museums and there were some spaceships, the US’ flag that Neil Armstrong left and art that the Natives had made.
In the zoos there were the Native people!! And you cannot imagine who they were: THE LUNNIS... ;-)
Before I came back I let my footprint on its surface as you see in the picture.
Well, I think my trip was very exciting and I think I would do it again. (If I earn enough money)

OUR FAVOURITE FILM

We write about our favourite film. It is Star Wars. The story is about a child that born without a father, his name is Anakin Skywalker. One day, a Jedis find Anakin when he was a slave. The Jedis called Qui-gon Jinn (The master) and Obi wan Kenobi (The padawan)

They came with Padme Amidala Princess. When Anakin grew, he married with her and he was Jedi. But the other Jedis didn’t accept him as a master. Then he went to the dark side of the force with the emperor. His wife had a son and a daughter. Their names are Luke and Leia.

Years later Obi wan looked after Luke. He trained his. Later Luke visited master Yoda.

Later Luke went to the Death Star to fight with Anakin now called Darth Vader. Luke kill the emperor and his father die too.

Our favourite parts are when Obi wan fights versus Anakin in the planet Mustafar. We like the Ewoks too.

It is about the Simpsons family and their adventures. In this particular movie Homer is more stupid than ever, he puts Springfield in danger. He throws to a very poluted lake Spider Pig's shits, then in the lake it takes place a chemical reaction, and so Springfield is in danger of destruction.

Sprindfield is isolated and it is condemned to die inside a huge buble impossible to break.

Hello everybody!

This is not the first time that I post in this blog but I'm going to introduce myself anyway. I'm Yoli (Yolanda) and I'm 13. I'm studying in the bilingual program of the Laguna de Joatzel HS in 2ºA. I like very much the program becuase I love learning and speaking languages and I think this way to learn English is fantastic! ;-)

I also like listening to music, going out with my friends, surfing the internet, playing video games... But one thing that I love doing is playing the piano. I've played the piano since I was 9 years old. This is my fourth year playing the piano. Now I'm learning to play a ballet called Sheherazade by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and also the Nocturno number 14 by Fryderyk Chopin, they're quite beautiful. Now I'm going to show you a video of myself playing a very easy song that I learnt before going to piano classes. It is called Let it be by The Beatles. Hi everyone!

This is my first time posting a message to this blog so I'll introduce myself. I am Mr. Gutiérrez aka Javier at the English Department. I am the crazy teacher on the Vespa you see every morning. I teach 1ºB Literacy and 2ºB Literacy, too. My other classes are 4ºESO C and 1º Bach B. I must say I am lucky I don't have many students this year.

I love teaching languages and learning them as well. I think English classes are lots of fun and I hope my students enjoy what we do.

My hobbies are traveling abroad (when I can afford it!), good music, good books and hanging out with my friends. Oh I forgot. I love Macs! I collect old computers. One of my oldest computers was made in 1985.

Hello, I'm Yoli!!

I've seen that nobody have written in our blog, but it probably means that you've been enjoying your holidays. But this is not my case... I would want to tell you now my wonderful adventures and funny things that I have done on holidays, but I cannot because I've got nothing to tell you.

At the beginnig I went to a village, in Ávila, for a weeks, but those days I was taking care of my little cousins, doing homeworks... no so many funny things. Then I returned to Getafe and my family and me were prepearing our house for having reforms. We had to buy all that this reform needed. The reform began and there are still things without finish. So, as I had nothing to do, I have been almost all summer doing homework.

So I can say that these are my worst summer holidays of my life. But after all some must be the worst.

I hope your holidays have been better than mine.

IVERSON

Allen Ezail Iverson (born June 7, 1975, in Hampton, Virginia), nicknamed A.I. and The Answer, is an American professional basketball player for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association. An 11-year veteran at the age of 31, he is considered to be one of the most prolific and consistent scorers in the history of the game (his career average of 28.0 points per contest is third all-time behind only Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain).

Before the NBA
As a junior, Iverson quarterbacked Bethel High School's football team to the state championship, which they won. At 17, Iverson was convicted on a felony charge of "maiming-by-mob" and drew a 15-year prison sentence, but with 10 years suspended. He spent four months at the Newport News City Farm before Virginia Governor Douglas Wilder granted him a pardon.

76ers years from 1996-2006
After two seasons at Georgetown, Allen Iverson was the first player picked in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. Iverson quickly established himself as one of the premier point guards in the NBA. He also gained a reputation as fun to watch and promptly filled the Sixers arena. He was named Rookie of the Year and was a member of the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
Iverson led the Sixers with 23.5 points (sixth in the NBA), 7.5 assists (10th) and 2.07 steals (seventh) and 40.1 minutes per game.
Despite his play on the court, Iverson often experienced difficulty handling the media and pressure of his new celebrity status. He was criticized by players, coaches, and the press alike, who often accused Iverson of a lack of respect for great NBA players, selfishness with the ball, and failure, despite his individiual achievements, to lead Sixers to a better record. He also endured scrutiny from the league office, who didn't like his hip-hop based persona (which included cornrows, and a growing number of tattoos on his body).
In the 1998-1999 season, Iverson had his first trip to the playoffs.

2004 Olympics
The team's performance at the Olympic Games, however, would ultimately prove to be a disappointment. Iverson and LeBron James were benched for a game for having arrived late to a practice session. The United States' team had a dismal start against Germany, which had failed to qualify for the Olympic competition. Iverson did succeed in keeping the game from going into overtime with a miraculous half-court shot in the closing seconds.
Despite the dramatic win, the team continued to struggle. They would ultimately claim a bronze medal, a disappointing showing by US basketball standards.

2006 trade
On April 18, 2006 Iverson and Chris Webber arrived late to the Sixers' fan appreciation night and home game finale. Players are expected to report 90 minutes before gametime, but both Iverson and Webber arrived around tipoff. Coach Maurice Cheeks notified the media that neither would be playing and general manager Billy King announced that Iverson and Webber would be fined.. During the 2006 off-season, trade rumors had Iverson going to Denver, Atlanta, or Boston. None of the deals were completed. Iverson had made it clear that he would like to stay a Sixer.
On November 29, 2006 following a conflict at practice, Iverson stormed out of the gymnasium. That same evening, Iverson missed a corporate sponsor night at Lucky Strike Lanes in Philadelphia. All the 76ers besides Iverson attended this mandatory event. Iverson was fined an undisclosed amount by the 76ers. Iverson claimed he overslept after taking medication for pain related to having two abscessed teeth pulled but it was reported that Iverson told teammates earlier in the day he planned to blow off the event and was simply going to take the fine.
On December 8 Iverson reportedly demanded a trade from the Sixers. As a result of the demand and missing practice prior to a matchup against the Washington Wizards, Iverson was told not to play nor attend any further games. During that game, which was televised nationally on ESPN, Sixers Chairman Ed Snider confirmed the trade rumors by stating "We're going to trade him. At a certain point, you have to come to grips with the fact that it's not working. He wants out and we're ready to accommodate him."
On December 19, the Philadelphia 76ers sent Iverson and forward Ivan McFarlin to the Denver Nuggets for Andre Miller, Joe Smith, and two first-round picks in the 2007 NBA Draft.

Iverson is the third leading scorer in NBA History. He has averaged 27.9 points per game in his career, trailing all-time leader Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain in this category by only 2.0 points per game. Iverson is one of only 30 players in NBA history to score over 20,000 points in his career, and he was the 6th fastest in the history of the game to achieve this feat.

My Sister's Wedding in Florida

Hello everyone! I thought I would say "Hello!" from Florida. It was a very busy weekend! On Saturday we had a reception dinner and then Sunday was the wedding (and then, of course, we have spent lots of time at the beach, playing in the ocean!)

There is a picture of the spot on the beach where we had the wedding. Then there a few pictures of my family...one picture is of me and my niece Anna before the wedding. In the group picture is my brother John, the very tall guy, and his girlfriend Betsey, me, my sister Laura and her new husband Daniel and Daniel's brother Paul.

There is also a picture of my other sister, Suzanne, and my very, very silly nephew, Ben having dinner at the wedding. Isn't he cute?! :)

He was born in the Kentish town of Canterbury. He's 30 years old. He is a very famous person in the life of cinema.

He decided to be an actor when he was 9 years old.

Before he graduated in dramatic art, the director of the film THE LORD OF THE RINGS gave to him the papel of Legolas, that is a elf in this film.After this film he began to be a filmstar and very popular.He appeares in other films like THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN where he interpreted Will Turner, a blacksmith, TROY where he interpreted Paris, a prince, THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN where he interpreted Balian, a blacksmith that turned into a warrior, ELIZABETHTOWN where he interpreted Drew Baylor, a boy that his father was died the same day that he was dimiss of his work.

In the Orlando's school, he always was choose to represet the principal character.
